The Landon Show!

“Motherhood has relaxed me in many ways. You learn to deal with crisis. I've become a juggler, I suppose. It's all a big circus, and nobody who knows me believes I can manage, but sometimes I do.” (Jane Seymour) It’s true it’s a big circus and the other morning I saw Landon perform an act I had never seen him perform before. Let’s just start at the beginning… Landon and I got up Friday morning before we both had to get to school and our semi usual routine played out. I took the 15 to 20 minutes to get him dressed before I got in the shower because he seemed pretty awake this morning. Other mornings it’s quite painful when he’s still in sleep mode. After dressing Landon in his usual school attire, blue shirt with his school logo on it, jeans, sock and his “jet shoes”, I got into a shower. About 15 minutes have past and I’m out of the shower, I can hear that he has put his High School Musical 3 CD into the DVD player and walk towards the noise to ask him to turn it down. Here was where the show was… I mean THE show. Landon is dancing around in circles to his favorite song The Boys Are Back- NUDE! Completely and totally nude. He took everything off; his shirt had been thrown next to the couch and I could see the neck was all stretched out from taking the shirt off from the neck down, not up over the arms. That shirt to to be pulled all the off his torso, down his legs and off his feet. He had been on a mission- he clearly really wanted to be naked! I’m standing there in my towel and he still hasn’t noticed I’m there, so I let him know, “Landon?” He stops, and if little boys understood what a curse word was and how even how to use it, I believe the one running through his head was, “Shit.” Like a very embarrassed, semi confused, teen he grabs something to cover up- his blankie! Looks up at me with his tongue out and eyes to the side. Now for those of you who know Landon, you know this face. It’s the “maybe if I stick my tongue out she won’t notice that I am trying not to smile” face. “What are you doing Bubba?” “Ummm… dancing.” At this point he is extra embarrassed, and lays down on the ground to cover himself even more with his blanket. “Okay…” I’m not really sure what to say here, and I am torn between emotions myself- this is hysterical! But, I don’t laugh, I just stay calm. “Okay, well you took all your clothes off… you know that this is the only place you can run around [or dance] naked right?” “Uh huh.” “You can’t do this at school or Publix or Nonni’s. Right?” “Uh huh.” “Okay.” With that I walked away, letting him go back to doing his thing until I was dressed enough to redress him. Needless to say we ran about 20 minutes late that day.

Maybe Landon has it right, maybe we should all dance in the nude a little- in the privacy of our own homes of course.

  2. I haven't had a chance to read your past few posts until today, but let me tell you, the one before this made me cry so hard, and this one made me laugh so hard.

You are such a great friend to Carina and vice-versa. You two are beautiful, and I'm jealous :(

I also coincidentally wrote a post about how "The universe is not random" today.

When are you guys moving finally? I'm so excited for you!!!
